It is with great joy that we express our deep gratitude to The Daily Planet Band for their stellar performance at our benefit concert at First Baptist Church, Manchester, on Saturday, July 23.
The crowd of about 50 was small but mighty with so much enthusiasm and attention! We were excited to have the chance to meet some new folks and share the work of Arica Education Partnership.
The concert was a long-planned event to help move the organization closer to the goal of meeting a dollar-for-dollar match challenge of $45,000. Going into the event, AEP was in possession of just over $31,000. Almost $4300 was collected during the evening, with additional donations and pledges that continued to come in. As of today, we are so happy to announce that the goal of $45,000 has been exceeded!
We are so thankful for the support given to our work- it means a great deal and encourages us to keep moving forward. The generosity demonstrated is truly touching.
With the match met and the dormitory project well positioned, we are looking ahead to our next project- construction of a new classroom block at rural Godogodo school. The children are currently being educated in a repurposed chicken coop…and that must be remedies. Stay tuned!
