Jagindi Tasha is a rural village about 1 ½ hours outside of Kafanchan center and home to one of five nursery/primary schools within the Kafanchan diocese.
With a growing population of over 300 young students, attempts were made to enlarge the school. However, with very limited financial resources, the diocese struggled to maintain the school let alone expand the facility. The school fell into a state of great disrepair. Government officials had threatened to take back the school from Kafanchan diocese if extensive renovations were not made.
Working with our partners, AEP was able to send the necessary funds to rebuild a large classroom block large enough to contain the student body.
With a new roof, plaster, and paint, the exterior of the building has a great new look.
The interior has been beautifully restored with new plaster, tile, ceilings and chalkboards- ready for students to return!
