After nearly six weeks at sea, the buses purchased for use at the rural schools in Kafanchan, which are supported by Africa Education Partnership, arrived at the port city of Lagos, Nigeria on November 10. It is important to note that these vehicles were purchased by our partners in Kafanchan. Drivers were sent to Lagos to drive the buses back to Kafanchan in Kaduna State.
Schools are reopening after being shut for months due the Covid19 pandemic. The buses have already begun their new life carrying children to and from home to school.
We used this opportunity to pack a dozen 44 gallon barrels with books and school supplies. Two of the barrels also contained vital spare parts to make sure that the vehicles are maintained. Africa Education Partnership paid for the shipping costs from the USA to Nigeria. We are very grateful to everyone who supports this work by your generous giving. Thank you very much.
