After nearly six weeks at sea, the buses purchased for use at the rural schools in Kafanchan, which are supported by Africa Education Partnership, arrived at the port city of Lagos, Nigeria on November 10. It is important to note that these vehicles were purchased by our partners in Kafanchan. Drivers were sent to Lagos to drive the buses back to Hafanchan in Kaduna State.
Since the schools have reopened after being shut for months due the Covid19 pandemic, the buses have already begun their new life carry children to and fro from home to school.
We in Connecticut used this opportunity to pack a dozen 44 gallon barrels with books and school supplies. Two of the barrels also contained vital spare parts to make sure that the vehicles are maintained.
Africa Education Partnership paid for the shipping costs from the USA to Nigeria.
We are very grateful to everyone of you who supports this work by your generous giving. Thank you very much.
