Finished product - just beautiful! These wonderful desks accommodate two students each and will be waiting when the Jagindi Tasha rural school reopens... after Covid 19 is under control.
Made from veneered wood and iron, they are durable and heavy. Cost? $40 each. Before Africa Education Partnership began work in Kafanchan, some of the schools did not have desks for students. Existing desks were splintered and rickety. The extensive renovations of the school buildings at Jagindi Tasha along with these new desks will greatly improve the comfort of students and make for a very pleasant learning environment.
A welder was hired from the capital city of Abuja to work on site to bend the iron that formed the desk frames. Local carpenters were enlisted to attach the wood for the seats and tops...a great outcome. This work could not have been done without your generous donations. Every gift you send is making a great difference in the lives of students in Nigeria. We get many messages of thanks from our partners. Thank you for your continued support. The attached collage shows the progress from the delivery of materials to the finished product. Beautiful wooden desks are built on site to help us save money so that your donations can go further.
