“Today I was overjoyed when I saw the renovated classrooms painted. They look more than renovated, they look just like brand new. Peace.” Bp. Markus M Dogo.
Joy all around.
We at Africa Education Partnership are equally overjoyed at the completion of our first renovation project in Kafanchan. The Kogum River Nursery/Primary School was in a very serious state of disrepair. There is still a lot of work to do at this school- one more classroom building requires renovation and new construction of a three-classroom block is needed.
Moving forward with a new building.
The newly-completed renovation at Kogum River cost $9,000.
The cost of constructing the new block of three classrooms is $24,000.
When the new construction has been completed, we will then fund the renovation of of the third block of classrooms, also at a cost of $9,000.
Lastly, we are looking into the purchase of new wooden classroom desks with attached benches on sturdy, metal frames; the old ones are causing tears in both skin and clothing. Each unit seats two children and costs about $25. About 100 units are needed, for a total of $2500.
Your generous donations and support for Africa Education Partnership’s construction projects in Gusau and Kafanchan are deeply appreciated. Please continue supporting this vital work; it is making the future of these students more secure. Our work is especially significant in the lives of girls who often don’t receive the same educational opportunities as boys.
