The district has several schools from primary to secondary. Some of these schools are old and were built in the 1930s and are in serious need of renovation. Kogum River Nursery/Primary School. The school that is most in need of repair is in Kogum River. One of the buildings has a roof that leaks very badly and has dirt floors. Repairing this roof is an urgent priority. The building is structurally sound, but needs a new roof, windows and proper floors in each classroom. Cost. Besides the repair of the existing buildings, there is an urgent need for another block of classrooms, since there are too many students seeking enrollment. The cost of renovations is $9000 US. The cost of the much needed block of new classrooms is $24,000. Values The education values of our friends in Kafanchan match the vision of Africa Education Partnership- that is, “the the highest quality education for students, regardless of gender, ethnic origin or religious affiliation.” Money transferred to Kafanchan. Africa Education Partnership has transferred, $9000 to Kafanchan for the renovation and repair of the buildings. The photos shows that work has begun on replacing the roof.
