Kagon River Nursery/Primary School, Kafanchan, Kaduna State

Our newest project is at Kagon River, in the Diocese of Kafanchan, in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Kafanchan is largely rural and is relatively poor, even by Nigerian standards. The diocese has several schools from primary to secondary. Some of these schools are old and were built in the 1930s and are in serious need of renovation.

Kagon River Nursery/Primary School.
The school that is most in need of repair is in Kagon River. One of the buildings has a roof that leaks very badly and has dirt floors. Repairing this roof is an urgent priority. The building is structurally sound, but needs a new roof, windows and proper floors in each classroom.


Cost.
Besides the repair of the existing buildings, there is an urgent need for another block of classrooms, since there are too many students seeking enrollment.
The cost of renovations is $9000 US. The cost of the much needed block of new classrooms is $24,000.

Money transferred to Kafanchan.
Africa Education Partnership has transferred, $9000 to Kafanchan for the renovation and repair of the buildings. The photos shows that work has begun on replacing the roof.
