Clean water is one of the most critical needs for any community. Now that our schools all have access to clean water, sanitation was the next project.
Our partners have worked very hard under extreme conditions, utilizing the funds sent to them very judiciously. As a result of their good stewardship, all three rural schools now have toilet facilities for both students and staff. Kogum River was the first rural school to have their toilets completed. Similar construction is underway at both Godogodo and Jagindi Tasha.
The facilities are completely tiled for easy cleaning. Hand washing stations have been included to encourage good personal hygiene. There is a smaller, separate building for staff use; a larger building will accommodate students. Trenches connecting the toilets to the water supply were dug by hand.
The rural schools in Godogodo, Jagindi Tasha, and Kogum River received toilet facilities. Separate buildings were constructed at each site- one for students and a separate facility for staff. Each building has handwashing stations. Interior tiling will make it easy to clean.
